A Busy Weekend for Fairfax Civitans!

It was a very busy day at the monthly Arlington Civitan Open Air Market on May 5. Barbara (above) was on hand Friday evening to help get things set up and was on hand again on Saturday to keep things stocked in the refreshment stand.

a bun prepared by Ed (above), the "bun splitter," and delivery to the hungry customer. This operation continued until early afternoon, when we ran out of buns!

Bowling ball, that is! Sunday, May 6 was the day for the Annual Langley Residential Support Services bowling tournament in Alexandria. Fairfax Civitan participants (above) Marilyn, Michelle, and Libby prepared with some last minute refreshments. Elaine (below) prepares to start the game while Tina and Katrina look on. Our team ended the day with low scores and high expectations for next year!

May 12, 2012 (Saturday): Wilcoxen Park Clean-Up; Spring has sprung, and hopefully, it will be a really great day for a walk in the park and doing a bit of beautification.
May 16, 2012 (Wednesday): CIVITAN VARIETY SHOW; 7:00 - 8:00pm; GREAT FUN FOR EVERYONE!; NVTC Gym, Building 11
June 7, 2012 - 6:30pm - 9pm.: Program Meeting at Red Lobster; Officers for the 2012-2013 Civitan year will be elected.
June 14-17,2012: Jr. Civitan International Convention in Norfolk. This event is being sponsored by the Chesapeake District. We will need lots of volunteers to make this a memorable event for these youth.
