Membership in Civitan is open to any man or woman without regard to race, creed or color, who is at least 18 years old, or a high school graduate and of good character.  Every Civitan should understand and appreciate the mission of Civitan International and strive to promote the three principle goals of fellowship with one another, knowledge about the community at large, and service to our fellow man through our club's actions and donations.

At our club meetings, we hear from community, business and government leaders who provide informative and entertaining programs on the issues that affect us and our families the most. We are dedicated to improving our communities through volunteer service. On the international level, Civitan focuses on helping people with developmental disabilities. Our club and district projects help fund the Civitan International Research Center, a research and treatment facility for developmental disabilities and special needs.

On the local level, we are involved in a variety of fund-raising and service projects. The Fairfax Civitan Club realizes the importance of offering its members opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as the opportunity to meet new friends and develop long-lasting relationships with people who share similar interest.

Cost -- Initiation Fees and Dues:
It costs very little to join the Fairfax Civitan Club. Each person must pay a one-time initiation fee of $17.50 to Civitan International. Our club treasurer bills members for dues quarterly. These dues are based upon what the club board of directors and members have agreed upon. Our quarterly dues are $20.50, which includes dues for the Chesapeake District and Civitan International.

Our monthly dinner meetings are held at the Red Lobster Restaurant in Fairfax. Food choices are selected individually from the Red Lobster menu and each attendee receives an individual check. The Red Lobster is located at 10325 Lee Highway Fairfax, VA 22030 (just east of the intersection of Routes 50 and 123. Phone: 703-691-1011
